Dear friends,

I'd like to repeat my position and mention my organisation...

I'm writing from Bursa/Turkey and i'm a member of Local Agenda 21 BursaYouth Council and a leader of its National & International Working Group. We have been organising and participating in local, regional, national and international activities with a large number of volunteers.

I don't know if you have read about LA21 but we do our activities voluntarily and aim to improve local participation,etc.

After this foreword, i want to say sth about participation. As you know NGO's are the vehicles between community and government and they transmit your demands, suggestions and complainings to the government. Also NGOs are the symbol of democratic structure and they need more participation for being active and effective on governments activities.

Then we should think about youth... If you aim to create a youth model that judges the current situation and tries to advance it, adopt the problems as if they are their own problem that has to be solved; you should prepare the suitable conditions for them. Otherwise whatever you do will cause nothing.

So let's talk about the suitable conditions for our aim. According to me, if you want to create a dynamic civil society, you should try to reach full participation and let everybody to attend your movement. If you can realise it, you can realise everthing about this subject.

Youth that is assumed as future guarantee needs some practical things. It won't be easy t persuade youngsters to do something that hasn't got an unabstract consequences. They just want to see that: "I did it." First we should try to orientate to the activities that has concrete result. Then you can other things. Maybe you will have already done the other things anyway. It is up to your society's current structure and understanding.

I have lots of things to say but i will wait for the possible answers and orientations for the main topics of the event. You may want us to talk about specific subjects.
